Biography

 

Idil BURSA was born in Samsun in 2004. She started her musical education at Bilkent University Music and Performing Arts Faculty, Music Readiness Elementary School Violoncello branch with Artur Rahmatulla. She performed her first concert with orchestra at the age of 10 with Bilkent Symphony Orchestra. Then she performed as a soloist with İzmir State Symphony Orchestra, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Symphony Orchestra, Bursa Region Symphony Orchestra, and Ankara Youth Symphony Orchestra.


She gave several recitals at Ankara Erimtan Archeology and Art Museum, İstanbul National Reassurance Concert Hall as part of İş-Sanat Shining Stars, Buca Municipality Culture and Art Center as part of Sevda Cenap And Music Foundation and Buca Municipality Young Talents Concert Series, Northern Cyprus Music Festival. She also performed as a child soloist at Fazil Say’s “Nazim Oratorio”. At 11th Janigro Cello Contest which was held in Croatia, she got both first prize and Jury’s Special Award in 2016. She also got 2nd prize at 13th International Young Virtuosos Contest held in Sofia Bulgaria, 1st prize at 2016-2017 Season İş-Sanat Shining Stars Series Meric SOYLU, Honorable Mention at 4th International S.Knushevitsky Cello Contest in Saratov Russia in 2018, 1st prize at 13th International Jan Vychytil Violoncello Contest in Prag Czech Republic in 2019.


She studied with Jens Peter Maintz at Germany Rutesheim Cello Academy. She also find chances to study together with the cellists who are famous and successfull both in Turkey and all over the world like Şölen Dikener, Christoph Henkel, Ozan Tunca, Julian Steckel, Laszlo Fenyö, Pablo Fernandez, Kian Soltani, Istvan Vardal, Jean-Guihen Queyras, Aleksander Rudin, Çağ Erçağ, Joel Marosi, and Indra Rahmatulla.


In 2020, at the 48th Istanbul Music Festival which was held as part of IKSV (Istanbul Culture and Art Foundation) she qualified as “Tomorrow’s Woman Star”.


After completing 2nd grade of Bilkent University Music and Performing Arts as a student of Artur Rahmatulla, she completed high school at the Musica Mundi School in Belgium with Claire Oppert.


In 2022 she successfully passed the exams and was admitted into the Barenboim Said Akademie in Germany where she continues her music education with the support of CEV Sanat.
